Drip Corporation was founded in 1981 by Joyce Schiffer and David Levy in Los Angeles, CA, with the idea of providing residential and local hardware stores with water conservation, low-volume micro-irrigation products and systems. During the early years, Drip Irrigation Garden, a privately held company, and later DIG Corporation, a privately held corporation, expanded and moved several times. In 1984, DIG introduced the Sprinkler Thinker®, one of the earliest alternative-powered irrigation controller technologies, which operated on batteries. As the company grew, DIG expanded its operations and relocated to its current headquarters in Vista, CA.
