Zero Carbon Building
DIG’s LEIT-2ET, ambient light (solar) powered irrigation system and EXCEL™ Dripline has been implemented in the new design of a “zero carbon building” for the Hong Kong Construction Industry Council (CIC). The 48,000 sq. ft. site is projected to operate on half of the electricity required for similar buildings of the same size. The plan uses alternative methods to supplement their energy requirements such as photovoltaic panels and B100 biodiesel which is pure waste cooking oil.
The LEIT-2ET patented ambient light technology will help to contribute to the sustainability of the project and offer water savings from on-site weather data provided by the LEIT WWS wireless weather station. In addition, the majority irrigation method will incorporate DIG’s EXCEL™ Dripline which will promote additional water savings over traditional sprays
