DIG’s 1/2 in. Air Vacuum Relief Valve with male pipe thread ensures optimal performance and efficiency in your drip irrigation system by preventing debris from being sucked back into the dripline.
This relief valve is designed to release air from the dripline during system startup, allowing the line to fill with water. When the drip zone is turned off, the valve allows air to re-enter, preventing the formation of a vacuum that could draw debris into the system.
By installing the Air Vacuum Relief Valve at the highest point of your dripline, you can effectively prevent clogging in sub-surface drip systems caused by back suction under vacuum conditions.
For optimal performance, install the Air Vacuum Relief Valve after the drip zone, along the dripline laterals, and at the highest point in the drip system layout. Use one valve per zone or per 10 GPM (33 LPM).
