ECO1™ MVA Single Station Solar Powered Irrigation Controller with 3/4″ Actuator

DIG’s ECO1™ MVA is an advanced single-station solar-powered irrigation controller mounted on a 3/4” actuator and is used to automate a 3/4” or 1” manual anti-siphon valve. Power is derived via a patented, time-tested internal photovoltaic module and microelectronic energy management system that is fueled by ambient light (solar). This provides power to the controller through the day anytime, anywhere and in any weather.

The controller uses features that include five start times per day, watering duration of up to 5 hours and 59 minutes, Manual Run, Monthly Budget, Rain Off with restart in up to 99 days, System Off and Irrigation Off for any month of the year. It also has additional features that include daily watering restrictions that can be used on any watering event that requires curbing by cites and municipalities.

About

The ECO1™ MVA solar-powered irrigation controller with a 3/4” actuator is factory assembled to convert a 3/4″ Champion and Orbit manual brass anti-siphon valve to automatic operation. Included in the package, you will find an adapter and seat washer to fit 1″ Champion, Orbit manual brass valves, 3?4″ and 1″ Rain bird manual plastic valves, and Orbit 3?4″ and 1″ manual plastic valves.

NOTE: Please select proper adaptor.

Programming: This controller uses seven programming buttons to navigate through its high resolution LCD icon-based display. The controller’s four buttons (left, right, up and down arrows) are used to select or modify a program parameter, the large button in the center is used to accept the parameter change and move or skip to the next step or icon, the right lower button is used for manual on/off, and the left lower button is used for program off or to stop irrigation when it is raining.

Power
This controller requires light as the source of energy and will take about 45 minutes to charge

Installation into a PVC pipe or to pipe thread

  1. Shut off the water supply.
  2. Remove the manual stem from the existing valve. If you are converting an anti-siphon valve, temporarily remove the anti-siphon cap (you will to install the actuator and the cap together).
  3. Replace any existing worn washers with the new ones provided.
  4. Install the controller with the actuator into the manual valve; using a wrench, tighten firmly, but do not over tighten.
  5. Rotate the flow control clockwise until completely closed.
  6. Turn on the main water supply.
  7. Press the manual on/off button to test the controller. A click will be heard indicating the valve is open (a manual operation icon will appear on the lower side of the screen.
  8. Now, rotate the flow control counterclockwise until the valve is operational and all sprinklers/sprayers are working evenly and to your satisfaction.
  9. Press the manual on/off button again to turn the controller off. A click will be heard indicating the valve is now close (The manual icon will disappear and the valve will close.
  10. Program the controller.
  11. If the controller is installed with a drip irrigation system, make sure to add a 15, 25 or 30 PSI pressure regulator to lower the pressure to the drip system, then install a 150 or higher mesh screen filter to protect the drip system, following with a swivel adapter to the drip tubing.

NOTE: If water continues to flow, turn the flow control slowly clockwise a 1/4″ turn at the time. Repeat steps 5-9 if necessary.
