Southern California Territory Sales Representative

DIG Corporation, a reputable manufacturer of drip irrigation products located in Vista, CA is looking for a Southern California Territory Sales Representative. The Sales Representative is responsible for the growth of DIG Corporation's market share from Bakersfield to Paso Robles and then south to the Mexico border. This job includes sales calls to Irrigation Distributors, Landscape Architects, Irrigation/Landscape Contractors, Municipalities, and Irrigation Consultants, while exploring the potential in other markets such as Agriculture.


  • Responsible for growing DIG's unique product line in their Commercial division, which consists the following product segments - Drip Irrigation, LEIT Products (Solar Powered Irrigation Controllers), Battery Operated Controllers and Agricultural products. Must then communicate, update and report important findings to the National Sales Manager on all aspects of the business in conformance with the company's established policies and objectives.
  • Establish sales targets by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for the market segment in the territory as well as project expected sales volume for existing and new customers and products.
  • Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales forecasts and objectives.
  • Develop proposals for submission to clients after ascertaining the client's needs and requirements.
  • Maintain current and complete knowledge of the products provided by DIG Corporation.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of pricing policies, rebate programs, "Buyback" policies and procedures of the company while also following these procedures and policies.
  • Maintain an up-to-date and complete record of current and potential customers, contact persons, addresses, and phone numbers, and record of most recent contacts and results.
  • Develop a sales plan for regular customer contacts and provide the Sales Manager with a record of contacts and results.
  • Maintain current and complete knowledge of trends in the irrigation industry
  • Be aware of what the competition is promoting and the manner in which it is being promoted.


  • Proven success selling Irrigation Products - we're looking for someone to aggressively spend a minimum of 50% of their time calling on Landscape Contractors, Municipalities, Landscape Architects and Irrigation Consultants to drive business through Distribution.
  • Must have the ability to cold call in an effort to grow DIG's market share and presence via "pull through sales". If you're not comfortable with the 1st two bullet points, please don't apply as you won't be a good fit for this position.
  • Irrigation installation/maintenance experience is highly sought after for this position
  • Strong organization, presentation and communication skills

  • Very strong work ethic


  • Bachelor's degree - Irrigation or Agricultural Science is a bonus
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in Irrigation sales, Manufacturing industry preferred.


  • Applicable state Driver's License
  • Ability to travel as needed - (60-80%)
  • Ability to work occasional weekends as needed
