Commercial Sales Support Specialist

We are looking for a qualified Sales Support Specialist to join our team to enhance and improve the overall customer experience for our commercial division. You will be responsible for communication with existing and potential customers, sales support, data entry and supporting business opportunities.

JOB SUMMARY

The Sales Support Specialist is the primary point of contact between the customers and the sales teams, initiating and completing administrative and sales tasks that enhance and improve the overall customer experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Helping the commercial sales team achieve the sales’ forecast and product growth targets by assisting in the daily sales and operational aspects of the organization
  • Being a liaison between the sales and operational divisions, including fielding customer telephone calls concerning order status, fulfillment, back orders, and return authorizations
  • Assisting sales team in tracking down "Special Need" information such as tracking info, order status, RA status, etc...
  • Assisting in securing customer contact information and maintaining a database through cold calling, emailing, and other means
  • Performing market research on competitive products, pricing, and positioning
  • Working with customers to identify stocking needs and opportunities
  • Assisting in all aspects of trade show preparation including communicating with attendees, hotels, completing tradeshow paperwork, and orders
  • Assisting in the preparation of product training events
  • Compiling spreadsheets and information of sales and pricing information as requested by the Commercial Sales Manager
  • Assisting in compiling and quoting pricing to customers and field sales
  • Accurately performing and keeping any paperwork required by the Company or Commercial Sales Manager
  • Learning the basics on irrigation systems and installation through internal training and outside coursework
  • Assuming the Order/Entry duties in her/his absence
  • Assuming the Receptionist’s duties in her/his absence
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Prior experience with, and understanding of, Customer Service
  • Data entry experience
  • Reporting experience
  • Attention to detail
  • Professionalism
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Problem solving & analytical skills
  • Decision making experience
  • Teamwork oriented
  • Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Irrigation Industry Experience Necessary
  • High School Graduate.
  • Associate Degree in Business, or related field preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Occasionally required to lift light weights (less than 25 pounds).
  • Occasionally required to lift moderate weights (25-50 pounds).
  • Exposure to adverse conditions.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
